Executive Secretary/PA (Human Resources) Assistants perform a variety of clerical duties, including Top level administrative secretarial support to Executive Management, the functioning of an office, as well as offering HR support. This may mean maintaining the human resource records of an organisation’s employees or answer questions for employees.  They may also prepare HR reports for Managers, answer telephone calls or letters, send out announcements of job openings or order office supplies.  Assistants may contact payroll departments to obtain authorised information from employee’s personal records.

 

Some recruitment duties may be performed such as explaining the organisations policies, informing job applicants of their acceptance or denial of employments. Assistants may be involved in the process of training staff, where courses need to be booked or organised or reports generated on training stats.  Remuneration and performance appraisal processes may require support via telephonic assistance, staff interaction or producing reports for Managerial review.

› This includes contact time, structured learning, workplace learning and self study (1 credit = 10 notional hours).

› More but not less time can be spent on this Qualification.

› No Formal requirements, but a Grade 12 Certificate is advisable.

› UCO is provisionally accredited by Umalusi, Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training.

 

› All unit standard based courses are quality assured by one of the following Seta’s: MICT SETA, ETDP SETA or SERVICES SETA.

 

› Unit standard based courses will be followed by a SAQA Aligned Unit Standard ID number.
